Description
The Game Larder is an early 19th-century, single-storey building with a rectangular plan, designed in a Classical style. It features a symmetrical façade with three bays and a flat roof supported by timber-louvred eaves. The exterior is constructed from droved New Quarry sandstone ashlar, highlighted by a projecting stone eaves cornice. The window and door margins are polished, and the windows and door are fitted with vertical bars. The entrance includes a half-glazed timber panelled door.
Originally, the building had 4-pane glazing in fixed timber windows, which are currently lying inside. The roof is flat and covered with lead.
Inside, the walls are plain ashlar, and there are two sets of 5-bar iron hanging rails, each equipped with 8 or 9 double hanging hooks for suspending game. The floor is flagged.
