Description

Earlier 19th century with later alterations and additions. Irregular 2-storey, 3-bay single-pile house. Sandstone rubble with droved ashlar dressings to N elevation, with later line-rendered addition; harl-pointed/harled sandstone with ashlar dressings to S. Flush quoins.

N (THE GREEN/SOUTH STREET) ELEVATION: grouped 2-1, with lower bay to right. Window at ground and 1st floor of bay to centre. Window at ground of bay to left. Later full-height half-piended addition to lower bay at left with porch recess to main house, window at 1st floor above.

S ELEVATION: not seen fully, 1995. window to each bay at 1st floor.

12-pane timber sash and case windows. Slate roof. Scroll skewputts. Brick wallhead stacks. Octagonal cans.

INTERIOR: not seen, 1995.

BOUNDARY WALL AND GATEPIER: whinstone and sandstone rubble wall with rounded coping. Square-plan gatepier to W of house, with boarded door; key pattern frieze, cornice and curvilinear pyramidal coping.
