Copeswood, Morebattle Road, Town Yetholm

Copeswood, located on Morebattle Road in Town Yetholm, is a former Free Church Manse built in the later 19th century, designed in the style of J Campbell Walker. This two-storey building has a near rectangular plan and features three bays. It is constructed from rubble whinstone, which was previously harled, with grey bull-faced sandstone dressings. The structure showcases long and short work to the quoins and around the openings, overhanging timber eaves, and brick relieving arches above the stair window on the west side, as well as at the ground level on the east and north sides.

On the south elevation, which is the principal facade, there is a doorway in the central bay with a panelled door and a plate glass fanlight above. A window is located on the first floor directly above the door. The outer right bay is advanced and contains single windows on both floors, while the outer left bay also has a single window on each floor.

The west elevation features a whinstone lean-to at the ground level with a stair window above it. The north elevation, which is the rear, has three bays with single windows in each bay. An outhouse is attached between the second and third bays. The east elevation consists of two bays, each with single windows; the right bay is advanced. The windows are 8-pane sash and case types. The roof is covered with grey slate and has a piended design, with corniced whinstone stacks that are banded with sandstone, including two shouldered wallhead stacks and two ridge stacks.
