Description

The building is a reservoir located on Craig Brown Avenue in Selkirk, dating from the later 19th century. It is a single-storey, four-bay, rectangular water storage tank situated on a mound, with the ground sloping down to the northwest and southwest. The structure is constructed from squared and snecked whinstone, featuring stugged ashlar dressings, with quoins and tails at the openings.

On the southeast elevation, the bays are arranged regularly, with boarded shutters covering each opening and arrow-slit openings positioned between the bays. The northwest elevation mirrors the southeast. The northeast elevation is gabled, with a central door flanked by arrow-slit openings.

The roof is slate, with ashlar coped skews and skewputts, and a tab at the apex of each gable. There is a gabled, louvred vent located at the center of the ridge. The interior was not seen in 1996.
