Description
This late 19th-century water tank building is a single-storey structure located at 76 Castle Street in Duns. It is constructed from cream sandstone rubble with stugged ashlar dressings. The building features tall openings in the gable ends, with steps leading to a boarded door on the west gable. Each side of the building has four small square openings beneath the eaves, all adorned with decorative wrought-iron grilles. A later addition is a small brick lean-to shed attached to the north side.
The roof has ashlar coped skews and is covered with graduated grey slates. Inside, there are six lined concrete tanks, each approximately 4 meters deep, with a gangway running between them.
