Description

18-22 Causeyside in Paisley is an early 19th-century, three-storey terrace consisting of three five-bay units. The southern block features a stepped curved bay at the corner and a five-bay return to Laigh Kirk Lane. The building is constructed of ashlar stone. The ground floor has modern shop fronts, while the first and second-floor windows are framed with architraves and have bracketed cills; the first-floor windows also feature cornices. The second floor retains 12-pane glazing. An eaves band is interrupted by architraves, and there is a cornice and blocking course at the top. The return elevation is similar but has later 19th-century windows on the ground floor with elliptically headed architraves. The first and second floors have sash windows with cills, and the second floor also has 12-pane windows. The building is topped with a corniced parapet and has slate roofing that turns the corner, along with axial corniced stacks.
