Description

Earlier 19th century. 2-storey, L-plan, classically detailed shop and tenement block on corner site. Painted ashlar, harled to gable and rear, low-pitched slate roof. Base course, cill course at 1st floor, corniced blocking course; aproned window to ground floor, architraved windows with 12-pane sash and case glazing to 1st floor; coped skews.

CASTLE STREET ELEVATION: door to centre, 2 windows to left and right; 3 windows to 1st floor.

EDINBURGH ROAD ELEVATION: 3 windows to ground and 1st floor, symmetrical; recessed segmental bay at splayed angle to right and left, window to ground and 1st floor at right, door and window at left; voluted, corniced, panelled and scrolled chimney base to centre of wallhead. INTERIOR: not seen.
