Description
The House at Kennels, located at Erskine Hospital, dates from around 1860 and is attributed to William Burn. This single-storey and attic T-plan building features Tudor architectural elements. The exterior is constructed with stugged courses and chamfered broached ashlar dressings.
On the north side, there is a gable to the right, which includes a tripartite window on the ground floor and a bipartite window on the first floor. A door is situated in the re-entrant angle, topped by a bracketed porch roof. The south side has a similar gable on the left, with a square stair window in the angle and a bipartite window to the right. There is also a lean-to outshot on the west side.
The roof is slated and supported by stone brackets, featuring straight skews with ball finials and tall ashlar stacks that have corbelled cornices.
