Dove Cottage, Golf Road, Bishopton

Dove Cottage, located on Golf Road in Bishopton, dates from around 1850 and is attributed to William Burn. This single-storey building with an attic features stugged courses and ashlar dressings that are chamfered at the openings. The west gable includes a ground floor bipartite window and a sculptured crest panel above it, along with a shouldered door in a single-storey back porch wing to the left. On the south side, there is a four-light canted bay with a bipartite window above and a single light to the right, which displays the monogram ECB. The east gable has two windows. The rear court is enclosed by a catslide roof and gablet, with sheds and an arched doorway to the east. The roof is slated with bracketed eaves, cusped barge boards, and three central linked hexagonal ashlar stacks.
