City Hall, King Edward Street, Perth

City Hall, located on King Edward Street in Perth, was designed by H E Clifford and Lunan between 1909 and 1914 in a Renaissance style. The building is constructed of ashlar and features a tall single storey with a basement, and a hall clerestory that is set back above. It has symmetrical frontages, with the central section of the west front recessed. This section includes a three-bay coupled column Roman Ionic portico and three arched doorways within one-window side bays, which are adorned with broken pediments and side scrolls. The exterior is characterized by raised quoins, a modillioned eaves cornice, and a blocking course, with large-scale sculptures positioned above.

On the east front, there are five arched windows featuring triple keystones and aprons, while the north and south fronts each have five windows with broken pediments and aprons situated between channelled end bays that are supported by Ionic columns and lunette attics. Inside, the building has a galleried rectangular hall with five bays of lunettes and an arched ceiling.
