Description
This building is a warehouse located on Tannage Street in Blairgowrie, dating from the later part of the 19th century. It is a two-storey structure with a raised basement and has a rectangular plan with a gabled roof. The exterior features polychrome brick and stone cills, set on a random rubble raised basement, with timber transoms and mullions.
On the southwest elevation, which is the principal front, there are two-leaf boarded timber doors with traditional roller-type openings. The right side of the elevation has tall doors in gabled bays flanking a central bay that contains two windows. To the left, there is a door leading to a hayloft, which breaks the eaves into a gabled dormer. The flanking bays on this side include a door at ground level, a window, and a gas lamp in the gablehead on the right, while the left bay has a pedestrian door to the right, a broad blocked window to the left, and another window in the gablehead.
The northwest elevation features four light transomed windows on the right side at both the ground and first floors, with the first-floor window breaking the eaves into a dormer. There is also a wallhead stack to the left, and the ground falls steeply to the left.
The northeast elevation, which faces the River Ericht, is asymmetrically fenestrated with three windows at the basement level on the right, while the bays to the left are obscured by vegetation. The ground floor has six windows, and there is painted lettering reading 'S C W S LTD POTATO FRUIT & GENERAL MERCHANTS' across the first floor, along with a small window near the eaves on the outer right.
The southeast elevation is blank. Most of the windows are blocked, but there is evidence of multi-pane glazing in the timber windows. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there is a polychrome brick stack with cans. The eaves overhang with plain bargeboarding and finialled gables complete the building's profile.
