Description
Guthrie Villas, located at 1 and 2 Oak Road in Birnam, was built around 1890 as the New Hotel. This three-storey building features two windows that are flanked by two two-storey bays. The second floor has swept dormer heads. The structure is constructed from snecked local rubble with ashlar dressings and has a piended slated roof. The building was re-categorised from grade B to grade C(S) in 2006, reflecting its group interest. The listing applies to both the interior and exterior, as is appropriate for this type of building.
