Description
The Ogilvy Arms Hotel, located at 6 and 7 High Street in Kirriemuir, was built around 1900. It is a two-storey building with three windows, constructed from red ashlar stone with buff dressings. The hotel features dormer heads on the second floor and retains its original cast-iron column treatment at the ground floor. The roof is slated. Attached to the hotel is a two-storey, five-window wing from the early 19th century, which has an artisan pilaster doorpiece to Roods. This wing has suffered fire damage. The building was re-categorised from grade B to grade C(S) in 2006, reflecting its group interest. The listing applies to both the interior and exterior of the building as appropriate for its type.
