Description

Late 18th to early 19th century, with later alterations and additions. Single storey and attic, 3-bay rectangular-plan symmetrical cottage built on ground rising steeply to W. Harled. Eaves course.

N (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: deep-set timber panelled door in bay to centre. Window in each bay flanking.

S (REAR) ELEVATION: regular 4-bay. Lean-to addition with corrugated-iron roof to outer right. Part-glazed timber door at ground in bay to left of centre. Window at ground with gabletted dormer, breaking eaves in bay to outer left. Window at ground in by to right of centre. Window at ground with dormer window, breaking eaves in bay to outer right.

W (SIDE) ELEVATION: blank gabled wall; gablehead stack above.

E (SIDE) ELEVATION: attic window to right of gable; gablehead stack above.

2- 4- and 6-pane timber sash and case windows; rooflight between dormers at rear. Grey slate; slate ridge; cement skews; harled, corniced gablehead stacks to E and W; predominantly cast-iron rainwater goods.

INTERIOR: not seen, 1997.
