Description
The Alexander Graham Fountain, located on Victoria Street in Stromness, was created by Walter Macfarlane & Co and is dated 1901. This commemorative cast-iron fountain is situated in a small square between the Harbour Office and the Eventide Club buildings, providing access to the harbour. It features a shallow circular bowl supported by four scroll-headed hoofs. The central fluted shaft is adorned with an inscribed bronze shield, and an anthemion baluster with two flanking scrolls supports a tapering shaft above. The fountain is flanked to the east and west by decorative cast-iron bollards.
