Description

This drinking fountain, located in a public park in Brechin, was created by Walter MacFarlane & Co, a foundry based in Glasgow, and is dated 1903. It features an elaborate cast-iron design with a pedestal that has large lion masks on each of its four cavetto faces. Above the pedestal, storks support the shaft of the upper basin, with a single stork serving as the upper jet. The entire structure is set upon a low quatrefoil basin.
