Description

Circa 1675 with later alterations and additions. 2-storey and attic 5-bay rectangular-plan near-symmetrical crowstepped-gabled former warehouse, converted as tourist office; 2-storey part corrugated-iron warehouse adjoining to right (N); single storey barrel-roofed building adjoining to rear (W). Harled with cement window cills.

E (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: modern part-glazed 2-leaf timber door with flanking lights at ground in bay to centre; Timber forestair from left to modern part-glazed boarded door with flanking lights, set slightly to right at 1st floor above. Window at each floor in bays flanking. Deep-set modern door at ground with window at 1st floor above in bays to outer left and right.

S (SIDE) ELEVATION: 2-bay gabled elevation: Window at each floor in each bay; attic window to each side of gable; gablehead stack above.

12- and 8-pane timber sash and case windows. Grey Caithness slate roof; stone ridge; harled, corniced gablehead stacks to N and S; uPVC rainwater goods.

INTERIOR: re-fitted as modern tourist office at ground; timber reception desk to centre; stone flagged floor; not seen above.
