Description
Earlier 19th century with later alterations. 2-storey row of 6 rectangular-plan cottages with 3-bay gabled W end to street (No 78), comprising from left, 3-bay (No 80), 2-bay (No 82), 3- over 5-bay (No 84), now possibly subdivided, and 3-bay (No 86) to E. Cement-rendered and lined at ground, harled at 1st floor to No 78; harl-pointed roughly coursed rubble to Nos 80 and 82; harl pointed, squared random rubble to number 84; harled with cement cills to No 86. Windows to Nos 80-84 set close under eaves; relieving arches over ground floor bays to right to number 84.
W (VICTORIA STREET) ELEVATION: deep-set modern door at ground in bay to centre. Window at each floor in bay to right. Large picture window ground in bay to left.
S (ENTRANCES) ELEVATION: from left, No 80: modern timber panelled door at ground in bay to centre; window at 1st floor above. Window at each floor in each bay flanking. No 82: modern timber door with rectangular fanlight at ground to left. Window at each floor to right. No 84: timber panelled door with letterbox fanlight at ground in bay to left of centre. Window at each floor in bay to outer left. Window at each floor in bay to centre. Boarded door with small light flanking to left at ground in bay to right of centre; non-aligned window at 1st floor above. Bipartite window (timber mullion) at ground in bay to outer right. No 86: modern part-glazed door at ground in bay to centre; window at 1st floor above. Window at each floor n bay to outer right. Window at ground with blocked non-aligned window at 1st floor above.
Variety of glazing patterns including 2-, 4-, 6- and 12-pane timber sash and case windows. Variety of roofing materials including purple and grey slates and modern asbestos tiles to number 86; stone ridges; cement-rendered and lined and rubble corniced ridge stacks; predominantly uPVC rainwater goods.
INTERIORS: not seen, 1997.
QUAY AND SLIPWAY: small rectangular-plan quay projecting to E with cement rendered surrounding wall; rubble slipway along N border.
