Description

Mid 19th century with later additions. Single storey, 3-bay rectangular-plan symmetrical cottage with single storey, single-bay outbuilding at right angles to rear forming L-plan complex. Random rubble. Concrete cills. Later single storey, 3-bay rectangular-plan shed to rear, extending original outbuilding. Harl-pointed rubble with breeze block easing course.

W (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: deep-set boarded door in bay to centre. Window in each bay flanking.

N AND S (SIDE) ELEVATIONS: blank with gablehead stack.

4-pane timber sash and case windows; small rooflights to W pitch. Purple slate roof; stone ridge; rubble, corniced gablehead stacks; thack stanes.

INTERIOR: not seen, 1998.

OUTBUILDINGS: boarded door set to left of W (gabled) elevation. Fixed timber-framed window set to left in N elevation. Stone tiled and turf-covered roof.

INTERIOR: exposed rafters and tie beams. Deep-set boarded door with window in each bay flanking, all set to right to N elevation of later wing to E. Fixed timber-framed windows. Corrugated-iron roof; stone ridge. INTERIOR: not seen, 1998.
