70-72 Glasgow Street, Ardrossan

70-72 Glasgow Street in Ardrossan is an early 19th century two-storey terrace, part of the original layout designed by architect Peter Nicholson in 1806 for Lord Eglington. The terrace features three windows for properties 30-36 and 66-72, while the others have four windows. The exterior is finished in painted ashlar, with all properties displaying later shopfronts on the ground floor; number 46 has a pilastered doorpiece. Each window includes margins, and the terrace has a continuous eaves course, cornice, and blocking course. The roofs are slate, with straight skews and end stacks, although properties 38-40 feature a central wallhead stack. The buildings at 70-72 also have two piended canted dormers, and some of the rear sections include stair turrets.
