Description
54 and 56 Glasgow Street in Ardrossan is an early 19th-century two-storey terrace building, part of the original layout designed for Lord Eglington by the architect Peter Nicholson in 1806. The terrace features three windows for properties 30-36 and 66-72, while the others have four windows. The exterior is finished in painted ashlar, and all ground floors have later shopfronts, with number 46 featuring a pilastered doorpiece. Each window has margins, and the building includes a continuous eaves course, cornice, and blocking course. The roofs are slate, with straight skews and end stacks, while properties 38-40 have a central wallhead stack. Additionally, numbers 70-72 have two piended canted dormers, and there are some rear stair turrets present.
