Description

46 and 46A Glasgow Street in Ardrossan is an early 19th century two-storey terrace, part of the original layout designed for Lord Eglington by the architect Peter Nicholson in 1806. The terrace features a mix of three-window and four-window configurations, with painted ashlar stonework. Most of the buildings have later shopfronts on the ground floor, while number 46 includes a pilastered doorpiece. All windows have margins, and the terrace has a continuous eaves course, cornice, and blocking course. The roofs are slate, with straight skews and end stacks, and numbers 38-40 have a central wallhead stack. Additionally, numbers 70-72 feature two piended canted dormers, and there are some rear stair turrets.
