Description

66-68 Glasgow Street in Ardrossan is an early 19th-century two-storey terrace building, part of the original layout designed for Lord Eglington by the architect Peter Nicholson in 1806. The terrace features three windows at 30-36 and 66-72, while the remaining sections have four windows. The exterior is finished in painted ashlar, with all units having later shopfronts on the ground floor; number 46 includes a pilastered doorpiece. Each window has margins, and the building has a continuous eaves course, cornice, and blocking course. The roof is slate, with straight skews and end stacks, while 38-40 has a central wallhead stack. Additionally, 70-72 features two piended canted dormers, and some rear sections have stair turrets.
