Description
Littlestone is an early 19th century courtyard group of farm buildings located at Lawthorn, Irvine, including an isolated outbuilding that closes the south side of the yard. The core of the group is a two-storey farmhouse built of limewashed and painted stucco. It has skew gables and slate roofs. The front of the farmhouse, facing the yard, has three windows, with a half-dormer treatment to the roof above, and painted window margins. The windows are arranged as a group of three, then two, then three. A central door provides access. Single-storey ranges project forward from the ends of the farmhouse, constructed of painted rubble with large openings facing the yard. A loft opening is visible in the west gable end.
