Description
This is a courtyard group of buildings, likely dating from the later 18th century, located at Lawthorn, Irvine. The group includes a two-storey farmhouse positioned on the north side, constructed with painted stone walls featuring raised margins and slate roofs with skew gables. The north front has three windows (one being a pair). A solid porch with a hipped roof projects from the north front, while four windows face the enclosed yard. A hood supported on wooden brackets shelters the south door. Farm buildings are attached, enclosing the yard on the south side. These buildings are constructed of random stonework with slate roofs and skew gables. An octagonal horsemill with a slate roof is attached to the south west side of the complex.
