Steading, Littlestone, Lawthorn, Irvine

This is an early 19th century group of farm buildings, located at Littlestone, near Lawthorn, Irvine. The layout comprises a courtyard with an isolated outbuilding that forms the south side of the yard. The farmhouse is two storeys high and built of limewashed and painted stucco, featuring skew gables and slate roofs. The front of the farmhouse has three windows facing the yard, with a half-dormer treatment under swept roofs. These windows are grouped as 3 + 2 + 3, with painted margins. A central doorway provides access. Single-storey ranges project forward from the ends of the farmhouse, constructed of painted rubble with large openings facing the yard. A loft opening is visible in the west gable end.
