Description
The Old Power House at Ardrossan Harbour is a single-storey building constructed in 1892. It was originally designed to house three boilers that produced hydraulic power for the harbour. The building is made of red engineering brick with sandstone dressings and features a slate roof topped with a red tile ridge. The side elevations include three round-arched windows. The gable end has a pediment and a square Italianate tower on the right, which originally housed the hydraulic ram. A modern clock is set in a recessed panel, and there is a bracketed cornice along the top.
