Warriston, 1 Anthony Road, Largs

Warriston, located at 1 Anthony Road in Largs, is a house built around 1830 in the style of David Hamilton. It is an asymmetrical, two-storey building with three bays, featuring an additional two-storey bay that is recessed on the north side. The main block is L-shaped and harled, with three recessed bays that have exposed ashlar stonework, all protected by a verandah supported by decorative cast-iron stanchions. The entrance door is situated in the right bay, with two casement windows to the left, all featuring moulded reveals. On the first floor, there are three basket-arched windows, also with moulded reveals, and an eaves course that is raised over the windows, topped with finials, two of which are broken. The advanced bay on the right has a canted ground floor window and a hood-moulded bipartite window above. The house has paired gable-head corniced stacks and slate roofs. There are some extensions at the rear. The property is also marked by square and circular gatepiers, which have pyramidal and conical caps, respectively.
