Carlton Terrace, 8-16 Aubrey Crescent, Largs

Carlton Terrace, located at 8-16 Aubrey Crescent in Largs, is a terrace of four pairs of two-storey houses built in the later 19th century. Each house features two bays and is constructed from polished ashlar stone. Each pair of houses has two central doors with single windows above on the first floor, and two-storey canted windows in the outer bays. The windows throughout are made of plate glass sashes. The eaves are heavily bracketed and topped with decorative iron cresting, and there are round-headed dormers, most of which have decorative finials. The roofs are steeply pitched and slated, with platforms, and there is decorative cast iron brattishing, although much of the ironwork has been removed from numbers 12 and 14. Some square gatepiers still remain.
