Description

The Church of the Nazarene, located on Glasgow Street in Ardrossan, was designed by architect Thomas Wallace in 1857. It features a simple rectangular plan and is rendered with red sandstone dressings. The entrance is situated in the gable end, accessed through a central recessed round-arched door that has a hood mould above it. There is a tall window with a similar hood mould located above the entrance. Flanking the central bay are two tall pilaster strips that extend through the battlemented parapet, culminating in pinnacles topped with onion caps. The outer bays also have similar clasping pilasters. Each outer bay contains two round-arched windows, with a string course gable above them, while the main body of the church features four tall round-arched windows.
