67, 69 Kenneth Street, Stornoway, Lewis

67 and 69 Kenneth Street are early 19th century houses that are joined together. They are two-storey, three-bay structures with a rear wing extending from a shared gable. The exterior is harled with painted ashlar margins and features slate roofs with end stacks. Skylights near the roof ridge suggest there are attic rooms inside.

The house on the left (No 71) has a recessed panelled door with a decorative rectangular fanlight. It features sash windows with a 12-pane glazing pattern. There is a single gable window facing Scotland Street (to the north) on each level, and a larger window at ground level with only centre astragals, resulting in a 4-pane glazing pattern.

The house on the right (Nos 67-69) has a painted ground floor, an original centre door, and a bipartite shop window on either side, along with a single window at the far left, all of which are alterations. This building appears to have been raised by several masonry courses, as the first-floor windows extend up to the eaves and have modern glazing. At the rear, there is a forestair in the re-entrant angle of the wing, which has irregular fenestration, mostly consisting of small panes. The roof of this wing has a lower pitch and is covered with tiles, integrating with the main roof, and there is an end stack at the intersection.
