Description
Prospect Lodge, built around 1827 in the style of William Robertson, is a two-storey and attic house with three bays. It features a pilastered central doorpiece that is accessed by a flight of steps, which oversails a raised basement. The building is constructed of coursed rubble with finely tooled dressings, and the flanks and rear elevation are harled. There is a band course at ground floor level and an eaves course, with 12-pane glazing throughout. The house has three canted dormers; the central one is a later addition, while the other two have lying-pane glazing with margins around the centre light. It includes coped end stacks and a slate roof. The rear elevation is nearly symmetrical, with plain fenestration and stone margins, and features four piended dormers set back in the roof. A low coped wall encloses the front garden.
