Description

  1. Substantial 2-storey over raised basement, wide

3-bay house. Tooled ashlar, polished ashlar dressings,

rubble flanks. Centre door with pilastered and corniced

doorpiece, approached by short flight of steps with

original cast-iron hand rail. Panelled door with plain

fanlight. Outer advanced bays rising to 1st floor with

tripartites, angle strips and bracketted cornice between

floors to both. 2-and 4-pane glazing to front, some

12-pane glazing survives at rear.

Symmetrically placed pair of ridge chimney batteries, 6

square stacks linked by cornice to each; wide ashlar

eaves; shallow piended slate roof. Low 2-storey wing to

rear with modern glazing to 1st floor.

High coped rubble garden walls. Square stone gatepiers

with modern cement render and moulded pyramidal caps.
