Description
Mill of Towie is a tall, two-storey and loft, double-gabled mill built in the early to mid-19th century, with later additions and alterations. It features a kiln projecting at the east and a lean-to wheelhouse that shelters the wheel at the rear (west). The building is constructed of squared grey granite with tooled granite dressings. The entrance, which has a loft door above it, is located in the east gable, and the mill has regular fenestration with 8-pane glazing and a slate roof. A pagoda louvred cupola is present on the kiln.
Inside, the machinery is intact, including millstones and hoists, all in working order.
