Description
Clan-Y-Mor is an early 19th century, two-storey house that once housed a bank. It has an H-plan layout and consists of sections built at slightly different times. The exterior is harled with contrasting tooled granite margins. The earlier part features a three-bay south-facing entrance front with a central door that is concealed by a later gabled porch, which has a side entrance. To the left, there is a later canted window. A narrower single-bay rear wing connects to a slightly later rear block, which has an irregular three-bay north elevation and a polished ashlar corniced doorpiece at the centre of the east return gable, likely serving the former bank. The building mainly has 12-pane glazing and features end wallhead coped stacks on the front portion, with similar ridge stacks on the rear. The roofs are covered with local piended slate and have sandstone ridges.
The property is enclosed by coped rubble garden walls. There are also later 19th century square tooled ashlar gatepiers with pyramidal caps that support small ball finials, along with a pair of spearhead cast-iron gates.
