Description

38-40 High Street in Fochabers is a mid to late 19th century building that serves as both a house and a shop. It is two stories tall with an attic and has an irregular four-bay layout. The exterior is made of tooled mixed rubble with tooled ashlar dressings.

The entrance to the house, which is No 38, is flanked by windows, while to the left is a modern shop window and entrance for No 40. On the first floor, there are three irregularly spaced windows, along with two canted dormers that feature two-pane glazing. A deep bandcourse separates the ground and first floors. The building has coped end stacks and a slate roof.
