43 High Street, Fochabers

43 High Street in Fochabers is an early 19th-century building that was raised to two storeys with a dormerless attic in the later 19th century. It features five bays, with entrances located in the second and fourth bays. The structure is made of rubble, with later 19th-century tooled ashlar margins that contrast with the main material. Slightly enlarged margined shop windows are positioned on either side of the doorway at number 43, and there is a deep painted tooled ashlar band course between the ground and first floors. The building has three first-floor windows and an additional window in the east gable facing Westmorland Street, all with 4-pane glazing. It has end stacks and a slate roof. There are single and two-storey additions at the rear, and a high rubble wall encloses the rear, which fronts Westmorland Street.
