Description
The ice house at Arniston House, dated 1816, is a round-arched structure facing north and set into a hillside. It is built from random rubble with droved dressings. The central doorway features a tooled lintel inscribed with "1816," while to the left of the doorway is a tooled stone that reads "TP" and displays an anchor. The bottom half of the doorway is filled with a stone slab. Inside, the ice house has a barrel-vaulted ceiling, a dirt floor, and walls clad in brick, with a stone ceiling above.
