Description

The icehouse at Aboyne Castle, dated 1827, is a barrel-vaulted structure built from coursed granite. It features a granite arch above the doorway and long and short dressings. The grass roof slopes down to ground level on the east side, and there are remains of a wall enclosure to the east. A tooled lintel above the entrance reads "CEA 1827." The square-plan vaulted chamber can be accessed by steps from the south side.
