Description

Later 18th century. 2-storey, 4-bay house (4th bay to right added later). Rubble, N elevation squared and coursed. Raised margins, painted on ground floor N elevation. Angle margins. Deep base course. Cill course at 1st floor. Eaves course at lintel level. Ovolo moulded eaves cornice.

N (LONDON ROAD) ELEVATION: steps up to doorway at centre, with wrought-iron balustrade; decorative consoles to open pediment above archtraved doorcase; panelled door and 2-pane fanlight. Large garage door with wooden lintel in bay to outer right. Regular fenestration at ground and 1st floors.

E ELEVATION: window at ground and 1st floors to right.

W ELEVATION: chamfered reveals to 2 windows at 1st floor.

Plate glass glazing patern in sash and case windows. 2 slate-hung piended dormer windows with small-pane glazing pattern to S pitch.

Coped skews; rope-detailed skewputts with pedestals (for urns?) to N. Rendered stacks, gablehead to E, and to former end gable to W. Purple slates to main roof, grey slates to half-piended roof of later bay.
