Description
This bridge, located on High Street in Lasswade, dates back to the 18th century and has undergone later repairs. It features a sandstone rubble parapet on the southwest side, topped with a ridged ashlar coping. A cast-iron and concrete pedestrian path runs alongside this parapet. On the northeast side, there is an ashlar sandstone parapet with a square ashlar coping.
The bridge has two ashlar sandstone segmental arches, which include ashlar voussoirs, soffits, and abutments. There is a full-height triangular-plan cutwater situated between the arches on the southwest side, and a half-height triangular-plan cutwater on the northeast side, which has a tapered buttress above it.
