Description
New Manse, located at 17 and 19 St Andrew's Road in Tain, was built between 1822 and 1824. This two-storey building features a wide, symmetrical three-bay design. The front is made of coursed dressed rubble, while the flanks are constructed from coursed rubble with ashlar dressing, margins, and long and short detailing. It has giant panelled angle pilasters and a slightly advanced central bay with a pediment, which includes a later gabled projecting porch over the central door. The building has a blocking course and retains some 9 and 12-pane glazing. There are two corniced central axial stacks, and the roof is piended with slate, featuring valleys at the rear.
