Description
West Lodge at Coul House is a single-storey gate lodge, likely built around 1821, featuring a shallow cruciform plan. The exterior is harled with ashlar margins. On the east gable, which faces the drive and entrance, there is a canted bay with wide ashlar margins and a window on each side. The south elevation has a shallow projecting off-centre bay, along with another shallow projection that contains a bipartite window. There are two additional bipartite windows on the west side, all of which appear to be later enlargements. The rear entrance has a re-entrant design and is covered by a modern canopy. To the northwest, there is a weather-boarded extension with mainly 4-pane glazing, ridge stacks, and a shallow piended slate roof.
