Description

Later 19th century. Picturesque single storey cruciform-plan

gate lodge. Stugged and snecked red ashlar, polished

dressings, bull-faced quoins. West elevation: 3 bays, inner

bay advanced and gabled, tripartite with hood-mould raised

over panel (S gable similarly treated); gabled porch in right

re-entrant angle with shouldered door; small window at left. Spike-finialed gables with ornamental barge boards. Axial

stacks. Slate roof, with projecting eaves.

Chamfered, square, polished ashlar gatepiers with

cable-moulded cornices and shaped caps; cast-iron gates and

railings with fleur-de-lis pattern.
