Description
The Old Bridge in Contin, designed by Thomas Telford and built between 1812 and 1813, is a high arched bridge made of rubble. It features three wide segmental headed arch rings that decrease slightly in height and span from east to west. The bridge has triangular cutwaters that rise to the height of the parapet, appearing as shallow pilasters. Additionally, there are shallow end buttresses and a dressed rubble parapet.
