Description
The Free Church Manse in Jamestown, built around 1844, is a symmetrical two-storey, three-bay house facing south, with a slightly later rear wing added around 1850. The exterior is harled, featuring contrasting painted tooled ashlar margins. The central doorway is margined and has a projecting moulded cornice supported by pendant brackets; it includes a fanlight with margined glazing and a double leaf panelled door. The front windows have a heavy centre mullion and consist of 8-pane sashes, with the ground floor windows being taller than those on the first floor. The rear wing creates an L-shaped court and includes a later single-storey service porch with 12-pane glazing in the windows. The house has corniced end stacks and a slate roof.
