Description
Howlin House is a late 18th century farmhouse with minor alterations from the late 19th century. It is a two-storey, three-bay structure with widely spaced bays, built from limewashed rubble. The central door is concealed by a later gabled porch made of red corrugated iron. There is a window to the left of the door and another door to the right that leads to the byre and hayloft. Each bay on the first floor features a window, while the gable to the right is blank. A lean-to porch is attached to the gable on the left side.
The windows are timber 4-pane sash and case, with one hopper timber window on the first floor front. The doors are boarded. The roof is made of black corrugated iron, with coped skews and coped stone gablehead stacks.
The interior was not seen in 1997.
