Description
St Donnan's Church and Burial-Ground in Kildonnan, Eigg, dates from the mid to late 16th century and consists of the roofless remains of a rectangular church oriented to the east, constructed from rubble. There is a doorway located at the southwest corner, and the east wall is fragmentary, suggesting it may have once contained a window. Small rectangular windows are present in the southeast and northeast walls.
Inside, there is a segmental-headed tomb recess in the north wall, although all dressings have been robbed except for two panels that remain, with the lower panel dated 1641 and featuring a coat of arms. The church floor is overgrown and contains various tombs.
The burial ground, which is fenced, extends to the south of the church.
