Description
Hope Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse with later alterations. It is constructed of rubble and has a rendered exterior, topped with a single Roman tiled roof featuring raised coped verges, crestings, corbelled eaves, and brick gable stacks. The rear slope of the roof is pantiled. The building has two storeys and three windows, all of which are 16-pane sashes set in plain reveals. A central 20th-century porch with a pitched roof and sidelights leads to an inner panelled and glazed door. There is a lean-to attached to the rear left.
On the right side, there is a cast iron oven door set into the wall with a stack above it. The rear of the farmhouse has a roof that extends to a lower level, featuring three 20th-century windows at ground floor, a two-light casement at the first floor, and a raking dormer. The lean-to on the right includes a door and a two-light casement, with the roof extended and supported by two wooden piers to create a covered area. The interior has not been inspected.
