3 Russell Street, Lybster

The Yarrows and numbers 3 to 7 Russell Street, Lybster, date from the mid-19th century. Number 3 Russell Street is a two-storey, three-bay building with a return elevation facing Russell Street. It is constructed of coursed rubble with tooled margins; a continuous lintel band links the ground floor windows and doors on both elevations. The first floor on the Russell Street elevation is blind, and has a central modern door and window. The roof is slated. Numbers 4 and 5 Russell Street are a two-storey, four-bay dwelling with paired central doors, with the right-hand door having been altered to a window. They feature modern two-pane glazing and a slate roof. Number 7 Russell Street is a three-bay dwelling with an additional opening; a former door has been inserted as a window between the door and the right-hand window. Some original 12-pane glazing remains. The building is currently roofless. The bakery, a single-storey, three-bay building located in the courtyard to the rear of number 7, has modern glazing and end and ridge stacks, and slate roofs. All buildings share coursed rubble and tooled dressings. Since a resurvey in 1982, some modern windows and doors have been inserted, and number 7 has lost its roof.
